Why buy this edition when a new one is coming out soon? You can begin playing now. The mechanics between the new and old systems haven’t changed. We have added content, more spells, more monsters, smoothed out a few things we thought might need more clarification, etc., but nothing significant has been changed in the flow or mechanics of game play in the first edition.
